Every ECAHLI node is stewarded by the people who live there. You become part of an affordable eco-home community fully integrated with on-site employment, education, healthcare, food, and nature — all within walking distance of your front door. Active and Inactive residents both belong to the same community, each with a clear role and a protected set of rights.
The ECAHLI Community Handbook is the governing reference for life inside every community node. It is more than a rulebook — it is a covenant between residents, the Foundation, and the wider communities we are embedded in.
The Handbook enshrines human rights, family rights, and children's rights for every resident. It protects animal welfare and environmental standards as non-negotiable principles, and defines how the Community Council operates, how decisions are made, and how disputes are resolved. Every resident — Active or Inactive — is protected equally from their first day in the community.
The Community Handbook is the constitution of daily life inside every ECAHLI node — protecting every resident's rights, defining how decisions are made, and ensuring the community is governed fairly and transparently for generations.
Every person who lives in an ECAHLI community is a resident. Your status — Active or Inactive — defines your economic relationship with the community, not your right to belong to it. Both statuses carry real benefits and real protections.
Active Residents are employed within the ECAHLI economic ecosystem. They hold full community rights and receive a comprehensive benefit package in exchange for their contribution to the node's operations and governance.
Inactive Residents — including retirees — continue to live in the community and receive nearly all benefits. Their economic relationship with the node differs: they contribute through a monthly service fee rather than active employment.
Every Active Resident receives a permanently assigned eco-home with zero rent and zero debt, maintained to community standards throughout their tenancy. In retirement, the home is retained under Inactive status — the security of belonging, for life.
An ECAHLI community is not a housing estate with a few extra services bolted on. It is a planned, governed community where your home, your work, your children's education, your healthcare, and your daily food are all designed to operate together from day one — inside one walkable, governed node.
As an Active Resident, the total value of housing, salary, healthcare, education, training, meals, and retirement provision — all included — represents one of the most comprehensive integrated living and working packages available anywhere in the world.
Residents are the stewards of the affordable housing village and surrounding land — operating under the oversight of ECAHLI Global Holdings to ensure every node fulfils its social and ecological mission across generations.
The Community Council is composed of elected Active Residents serving defined terms, with recall rules ensuring ongoing accountability. It works alongside professional management to guide community priorities, oversee projects and budgets, and ensure the Handbook is applied consistently. Transparent meeting records are shared with all residents.
Every resident plays a role in protecting and improving the land, water, and ecosystems that sustain the community. Environmental stewardship committees manage water, waste, and energy systems. Residents coordinate land care, regenerative agriculture, and conservation zones. All residents — Active or Inactive — may join committees.
ECAHLI communities extend beyond their own borders. Resident-led programmes support vulnerable neighbouring households. Environmental clean-up and reforestation drives engage residents and the wider community. Youth mentorship and skills-sharing extend ECAHLI's reach outward. New families are welcomed through a structured integration and orientation process.
From your home to the health clinic, the school, the community centre, the sports courts, and the gardens — every facility in an ECAHLI node is accessible without a vehicle, without a journey, and without an additional cost to you as a resident.
Every amenity listed here is inside the community, within walking distance. They are not rare add-ons available to a few — they are the fabric of daily life inside every ECAHLI node, accessible to all residents as part of living there.
A purpose-built outdoor facility designed for youth, families, and visitors — supervised, safe, and unforgettable. Obstacle fitness and challenge track, treetop zipline and elevated walkways, climbing walls and balance courses. Open to residents and for community events throughout the year.
Active living is built into the layout. Green running and walking paths through landscaped surroundings. Basketball and tennis courts. Outdoor calisthenics and fitness stations. Open grounds for community sports days, school tournaments, and neighbourhood events throughout the year.
Dedicated wellness space designed for rest, restoration, and whole-person care — available to all residents as part of community life. Massage and holistic therapy services, sauna and steam facilities, quiet relaxation and reflection zones, and structured community wellness programmes.
The social core of the node. Natural swimming pool set within landscaped surroundings. Community centre and hall for events, workshops, film nights, and cultural celebrations. Shared kitchen and café space for residents and guests. Co-working spaces, children's play areas, and a meditation garden.
Food is grown, prepared, and shared within the community. Residents connect with the land and each other through community food gardens and permaculture plots. On-site education from school-age through to adult TVET and vocational training — all aligned to employment roles that exist right inside the community. Active Residents automatically move to Inactive status upon retirement — keeping their home, their meals, their healthcare, and full access to community life. The service fee of USD 800 per month covers shared services and infrastructure. Advisory roles remain available for those who wish to stay involved. Retirement in an ECAHLI community means security, community, and dignity — not isolation.
ECAHLI communities are designed for people who want to live well in the regions they come from — not just those forced to stay by circumstance. Diaspora members and returning residents can find genuine opportunity, dignity, healthcare, education for their children, and a stable home — without the compromises of urban migration or the isolation of returning to under-served rural areas.
