The ECAHLI Apprenticeship & Development Program

We invest in people from day one.

Every ECAHLI node opens its doors with a structured, paid, on-the-job training program — not an internship, not a trial period. Real work, real wages, real skills in the technologies and systems the next economy actually needs.

There is no better way to gain knowledge, skills, and experience than to be paid to learn them, on real infrastructure, from people already doing the work. Throughout this training and development period, we actively identify people with talent, drive, and the ability to exceed expectations — and give them a genuine path to advance and grow.

That growth happens inside an environment built on five kinds of security most jobs never offer: job security, housing security, food security, education security, and retirement security. We are building a better world for the next generation — our children, and the generations that follow them.

  • Wage step review at 6–12 months
Step 3 · Senior

Supervisor & Specialist

Those identified as exceeding expectations move into supervisory or specialist roles — with management training and senior wage bands.

  • Leadership and management modules
  • Eligible for Community Council roles
  • Mentor a new entry-level colleague

Employment Build-Out

Jobs grow as the campus grows.

Employment ramps through three phases — construction, activation, and full operation. Residents who join early build skills throughout, and are positioned for senior roles by the time the node reaches full capacity.

Phase 1 · Years 1–3

Construction & Establishment

Infrastructure build, energy systems, initial housing and agricultural groundwork. Approximately 180 direct construction-phase roles. First OJT cohorts begin during build.

Phase 2 · Years 4–6

Production & Activation

Processing plant online, hospitality operations launched, TVET academy intake begins. Approximately 900 operational roles across all 10 sectors.

Phase 3 · Years 7–10

Scale & Replication

Full occupancy. 1,975+ permanent direct jobs. Senior residents eligible for inter-node replication roles as ECAHLI deploys new nodes.

Values, Dignity & Rights

ECAHLI is for people who want to build something.

ECAHLI is for those who will seize the opportunity to innovate, train others, and build something that outlasts them — not charity, not a handout, a structured system designed to lift people permanently.

01Who ECAHLI Is For

Innovators & Creators

People who want to be more than an employee in someone else's system — with real, actively designed-in room to advance.

02Who ECAHLI Is For

People Wanting a Fresh Start

Those beginning again — with dignity, a home, healthcare, and education for their children, inside a community that holds them.

03Rights Framework

Protected by the Community Handbook

Every ECAHLI community operates under the Handbook — protecting human, family, and children's rights, with zero tolerance for violence or exploitation.

"We are building the industries of the next economy — regenerative agriculture, clean energy, circular materials, digital systems, integrative health — and putting community residents at their centre. Not as labourers. As skilled practitioners, innovators, and eventual teachers of the model."
Petrus Van Der Merwe — Founder & Lifelong Chair, ECAHLI Foundation
